How to check a notarized document
Every California notary's seal shows the notary's name, the commission number, the county where the oath and bond are filed, and the date the commission expires.
It is the exact match: 7 digits, one commission. A name works too, in any order — the state's file carries the full name on the commission.
The record shows what the state's file lists. Anything that differs from the seal is a question for the notary, or for the Secretary of State.
