Your listing
If you hold the commission, you can have your profile taken down and kept down. Here is exactly what to send, and what happens next.
Where the listing came from
Your listing is built from your state's published notary roster. NotaryOT did not collect it from you, and nothing on an unclaimed profile comes from anywhere else — we never add contact details to an unclaimed listing from other sources.
We never publish your mailing address. It is in the roster we ingest, it is frequently a home address, and it does not appear on any page, in any search result, or in any email we send.
The fastest route
Claiming asks for three things that appear on your own commission record: the commission number, the expiration date, and the mailing address your state holds. The comparison runs inside our database and answers only yes or no — we do not see, log or keep what you type, and there is nothing to send us.
Once you are signed in, the control is in Settings on your dashboard.
If you would rather not claim it
You do not have to create an account to be removed. Use the contact form and choose “Remove my listing”, or write to hello@notaryot.com.
So we do not take down the wrong person's listing, we need one of these — and nothing beyond it:
We will not ask you for a Social Security number, a driver's licence, a date of birth, or anything else beyond the above.
What removal does
What removal does not do
Your commission record stays public at your state's Secretary of State — we do not hold that record and cannot change it. Other sites publish the same roster, and removal here has no effect on them.
We do not delete the roster row on our side either. It stops being published anywhere, and it stays in our data so that the daily refresh keeps recognising it and keeps it suppressed. That is what makes the removal survive.
If something is wrong rather than unwanted
If the listing is yours but shows the wrong city, an expired commission or a name that is no longer right, the contact form has a separate topic for that. A correction is usually faster than a removal, and it is the one that helps people who are looking for you.
