How this directory is built
Every listing on these pages is republished from the California Secretary of State's own public roster of commissioned notaries, which we re-import every business day. A listing shows the name, commission number, city or county and expiry date the state publishes, and a source line naming where it came from — never a street address, because the mailing address on a notary's commission is very often their home. We add nothing from any other source to a listing its notary has not claimed, we never show a commission the state no longer lists as active, and we act on removal requests.
